In Salford, just north of the Irwell, there was an Islington Road, Isington Grove and Islington Square. OS Map Lancashire CIV.6 1-2500 1892. A small part of Islington Street remains, close to a modern street called Islington Way.

It maybe forgotten That if it wasnt for early diesel preservationists Like Colin Massingham we wouldnt have many early diesels left the Clayton and the Class 28 for two he had a hand in preserving .Also a Hymek a Warship and a Western all he was involved with when no one was that interested or wanted. He once told me that he also tried to buy a baby Deltic and the Warship was originally supposed to be a baby Warship but as BR had scrapped the one he wanted they offered him a Warship!!

I was thinking of you all when I read recently of a young man who had been pulled from Micker Brook in Cheadle but had sadly died of drowning. From pics, it looked as though he might have been a bit of an explorer too. So just want to say how much I appreciate the risks you take to bring us your brilliant content, and please, every one of you, continue to be safe, and I hope I speak for all of us when I say I'd feel a terrible sense of responsibility if you came to harm while doing something for our enjoyment. I know you love to do it too, but, well... you know what I mean. Today's video may have been unintentional, but it was certainly different and worth a watch. But yeah, stay out of sewers.

Everybody makes mistakes m8! No probs this end. They called them sewage farms out this way. We used to visit with the councils permission. We were told to call them brown fishies. There was always one who fell in, hosed them off but, we left'm there, to be picked up by their parents. Different, somewhat intriguing, thanks Martin, you and your crew stay vertical Eh! And if the mic works, don't knock it.

Air quality monitors are a must for anywhere underground. Methane is explosive, Co is a silent killer, Sulphur depletes O2 without warning. That said it is a fascinating world...Keep it up. (SAFELY).! Forgot to mention, Radon is present too.

Not unless there's a UK English vs US English going on, I think this is a storm drain and what you are seeing is a sewer overflow connection. Very common in older waste water systems to keep the poop water in smaller, separate pipes and larger storm water pipes separate but cross connected to deal with overflow from one to the other. All that stuff was laid down during a storm event.
